    Thank you.

The Ascona was sold new here in Sweden.
The last 2 or 3 years it has been standing outside without anyone taking care of it so I contacted the owner and bought it.

About the engine, just to begin with I will use a standard 2.0 from a Rekord E1 and replace the original carburator with ONE 36/36.
Later I will probably build another engine with 2 Weber 45.

It will look original. I think they look best in original shape.

    Yes, the color is 8)

A few pictures of an Ascona that I'm restoring.
    Sunroof is original.

Will strip it down completely to fix all the rust and then paint it.
Motor will be a 2.0 with Weber 32/36 and 4-speed gearbox.

    New pictures taken today.
I have painted it black behind the grill.

And no, I have not done anything to the exhaust pipe yet. :ka:

Andi: The snow won't be a problem, I never drive the car during the winter.
On the pictures I just took it outside the garage to clean the garage.

But I don't want it too low anyway, maybe 40mm lower or so.

Achill: Thank you. But no big extensions or snow tires on this one. :fu:
And I will probably do something about the exhaust too, I also prefer a straight endpipe.

I have been thinking about if I should keep this car original as it is now or lower it and put some 7X13 wheels on it.

What do you guys think? Original or lowered?

    Hi,Mikko!!
Heartly welcome, it´s nice to have you here.
Very good car, and rare colour

Bad german is NO problem, you can speak/write english here.

    so stay tuned ;)

    Hi and thank you.

I have only seen one more Ascona A with the same color, it's also a Swedish 4-door Ascona -75.
I think this color was only available for the Ascona/Manta A in 1975.
